Zinc stearate’s dual role as a lubricant and stabilizer makes it indispensable across industries:
Plastics Industry (Primary Use):
PVC Processing: Acts as an internal/external lubricant and heat stabilizer, improving melt flow, reducing friction between resin particles and processing equipment (e.g., extruders, injection molders), and preventing thermal degradation of PVC during high-temperature processing.
Other Polymers: Used in PE, PP, ABS, and rubber compounds to enhance mold release and processability.
Rubber Industry:
Serves as a vulcanization activator for natural rubber (NR), SBR, and NBR, accelerating the vulcanization reaction and improving rubber’s mechanical strength and aging resistance.
Also functions as a mold release agent to prevent rubber products from sticking to molds.
Cosmetics & Personal Care:
Added to powders (e.g., face powder, talcum powder) as an anti-caking agent and texture improver, preventing clumping and enhancing spreadability.
Used in creams and lotions as a thickener and emulsifier stabilizer.
Other Fields:
Paints & Coatings: Anti-settling agent for pigments, improving coating uniformity.
